Transcript of the Will of James Insley of Cradley Heath
Died 1826

 

In the Name of God Amen I James Ingley of Cradley Heath in the Parish of Rowley Regis in the County of Stafford do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say I give and bequeath unto my sons Thomas Ingley and James Ingley All my household goods furniture and personnel Estate of what nature or kind so ever Upon Trust to sell the same and out of the arising thereby in the first place to pay my just Debts Funeral expenses and the costs and charges of proving and executing this my Will and the over plus Monies to equally divide between themselves my Son Samuel Ingley (Note : The following has been scored out on the original)   my daughter Hannah the wife of Thomas Fellows           the wife of John Adams and           the wife of Samuel Mason   I give and devise unto my Son Thomas Ingley All that my Messuage or Tenement Building Land and premises with the appurtenances situate and lying and being at Pear Tree Lane in the parish of Rowley Regis aforesaid and now in the occupation of the said Thomas Ingley And also all that piece of Land called the Quarry piece situate lying and being upon Cradley Heath aforesaid and arising (?) therefrom (?) To hold to my Son Thomas Ingley his heirs and Assigns for ever. I give and devise unto my Son James Ingley All that piece or parcel of Land situate lying and being upon Cradley Heath Aforesaid and called the Meadow (?) and now in my possession And also all that any Messuage or Tenement Shop Outbuildings Garden and premises situate in Laurence Lane in the parish of Rowley Regis aforesaid and now in the possession of the Widow Priest To hold unto and to the use of my Son James Ingley his heirs and Assigns for ever I give and devise unto my Son Samuel Ingley All those my two Messuages or Tenements and Gardens with the Appurtenances thereto belonging situate lying and being at Cradley Heath aforesaid and now in the possession of George Homer and Elijah Williams To hold unto my Son Samuel Ingley his heirs Assigns for ever I give and devise unto my daughter Hannah Fellows All these my two Messuages or Tenements with the Gardens and Appurtenances thereto belonging And also the all that Pleck of land thereto adjoining All which said Messuages or Tenements Land and Premises are situate lying and being at Aele (?) Bank in the parish of Oldswinford and County of Worcester and now in the occupation of Jonathan Priest and John Gardner (?) And also all that Messuage or Tenement and shop situate lying and being in Laurence Lane aforesaid and now in the possession of James Mason the younger. To hold the said several Messuages Tenements Buildings Land and premises unto the use of the said Hannah Fellows her heirs and Assigns for ever I give and devise unto my Son in Law John Adams All that any Messuage or Tenement with the Garden and Appurtenances thereto belonging at Hele (?) Bank aforesaid in the parish of Oldswinford and now in the possession of John Hill To hold unto the said John Adams his Heirs and Assigns for ever I give and devise unto my Son in Law Samuel Mason All that any Messuage Tenements and Appurtenance thereto belonging situate lying and being in Laurence Lane aforesaid and now in the occupation of the said Samuel Mason To hold unto and to the use of the said Samuel Mason his heirs and assigns for ever I give and devise unto my Sons Thomas Ingley and James Ingley All that my Messuage or Tenement and Gardens situated at Bank aforesaid in the Parish of Oldswinford in the county of Worcester and now in the occupation of William Carter To hold to them the said Thomas Ingley and James Ingley there heirs and Assigns for

ever Upon Trust to sell the same and the monies arising thereby Upon Trust to pay and divide the same and between my two Sons in Law John Adams and Samuel Mason equally between them share and share alike And I do ask (?) and direct that the receipt of my executors hereinafter named shall be a good and sufficient discharge to the Purchaser of the said Messuage and premises And Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said two Sons Thomas Ingley and James Ingley joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof the said James Ingley have to this my last will and testament contained in this and the proceeding sheet of paper set my hand and Seal to wit my hand to the preceding sheet at the bottom thereof and my hand and seal to this last sheet of paper the sixth day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Twenty two
